Archived 12 September 2026The programme is spread across the historic centre and other venues, so visitors should confirm the time and address for each event.
- FLIV runs from 2 to 11 October.
- The programme lists 218 sessions and 174 participants.
- The book fair is based at Mercado 2 de Maio, with activities across Viseu.
A festival and a returning book fair
The event opens with the return of Viseu's book fair and then expands into an international programme from 7 October. Writers, illustrators, musicians and journalists from Portugal and abroad are involved.
Sessions also reach schools, care homes and day centres. Public events include debates, launches, concerts, exhibitions and a national meeting for book-focused Instagram creators.
Confirm the specific session
The programme uses the Mercado 2 de Maio, streets and cultural venues across the historic centre. A general festival date does not establish the start time, entry rule or capacity for an individual event.
Use the municipality's programme to build a route. If attending several sessions, allow walking time and check whether registration or a ticket is required.
