Archived 12 September 2026The permanent display adds a repeatable cultural stop in Viana's historic centre rather than a short exhibition with a closing date.
- The exhibition contains 31 award-winning works.
- It is on the first floor of the Antigos Paços do Concelho in Praça da República.
- Published visiting days are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
- Published hours are 10:00 to 18:00.
A collection built across the northwest
The works come from different editions of a biennial linking municipalities in northern Portugal and Galicia. Artists represented include winners connected with Barcelos, Valongo, Maia, Santa Maria da Feira, Monção and Coimbra.
A permanent exhibition means the collection has an ongoing home, not that access can never change. Municipal buildings can alter hours for holidays, ceremonies or maintenance.
Fit it into a visit to the centre
The Antigos Paços do Concelho are in Praça da República, making the exhibition easy to combine with a walk through central Viana. Visitors with mobility or access needs should confirm the first-floor route in advance.
Check the municipality or venue before a special journey. The published schedule is three days a week, so arriving on another day without confirmation may mean the gallery is closed.
