What happens today
The University of Lisbon session brings several small projects into one afternoon: removing invasive plants, building insect shelters, exchanging reusable goods, plogging, gardening and a sustainability escape room.
The wider Unite! week links universities across Europe. A local event listing does not mean every activity is open to the public, so participants should confirm their university status and registration before travelling.
Prepare for practical work
Wear suitable clothing, take water and follow the organiser's safety instructions for tools, waste and plants. Do not remove a species or handle discarded material outside the supervised activity.
A volunteer event can be a useful first contact with a group. Ask how later participation works rather than assuming that attendance creates an ongoing role or qualification.
What you can do now.
- 01
Check the university event page for registration.
- 02
Wear suitable clothes and follow on-site safety guidance.
- 03
Ask the organiser about later volunteering if you want to continue.
