IN BRIEF

The published programme gives visitors enough detail to plan a day in the historic centre rather than arriving on the assumption that every activity runs continuously.

  • The fair runs from Thursday 1 October to Monday 5 October.
  • Entry is free.
  • Weekday opening begins at 18:00, while weekend and holiday opening begins at 11:00.
  • The programme includes producers, crafts, food, street performance and cookery events.
01

What is happening in the centre

Torres Novas uses the fair to showcase nuts, dried fruit and related products alongside local food, crafts and entertainment. The programme includes traditional games, roaming music and theatre, a fig-and-nut confectionery competition and two cookery demonstrations.

The venues are in the historic centre rather than one enclosed hall. Check the programme time and square for a particular activity, and expect busier streets and parking demand during evening performances.

02

Choose the day by the timetable

The fair opens from 18:00 to midnight on Thursday and Friday, from 11:00 to midnight on Saturday and Sunday, and from 11:00 to 21:00 on Monday. Individual performances use shorter time slots.

Food allergies still need direct confirmation from the stallholder. A fair centred on nuts and dried fruit can involve cross-contact even where one item does not visibly contain nuts.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

What you can do now.

  1. 01

Check the municipal programme for the activity you want.

  2. 02

Allow extra time for parking or use local transport where practical.

  3. 03

Ask the vendor directly about allergens before buying food.
