Archived 12 September 2026The waiver can reduce rebooking cost, but travellers must ask the ticket issuer to confirm that their flight and fare qualify.

- Eligible replacement travel dates run from 29 September to 11 October inclusive.
- The airline says qualifying changes can avoid penalties and fare differences.
- The booking agent or airline must process and confirm the change.
A waiver is not an automatic rebooking
SATA published flexibility for passengers whose Air Açores travel may be affected by the strike notice. The original ticket, route and issuing channel still determine how a change is handled.
Do not assume the booking has moved because a preferred date appears online. Obtain a revised itinerary or written confirmation from SATA or the agent that issued the ticket.
Check the journey again
Flight operations can change nearer departure, while ferries and ground transport have their own information. Check the flight status and any onward connection before leaving for the airport.
Keep receipts when an actual disruption creates reasonable extra costs, but do not assume every expense will be reimbursed. Passenger rights depend on the cause, journey and assistance actually offered.
What you can do now.
- 01
Contact the original ticket issuer to request an eligible change.
- 02
Keep the confirmed revised itinerary.
- 03
Check the flight and onward connections again before departure.
