Archived 12 September 2026Residents should continue using their existing health-service arrangements. A completed building is not an operational clinic and no opening date has been confirmed.
- The PRR project was designed for capacity of up to 11,400 users.
- The municipality and ULS Algarve are pursuing an Algarve 2030 application for equipment.
- The public opening depends on equipment and operational preparation, not construction alone.
The building phase has ended
The project record lists €2.22 million in non-repayable PRR funding for the new unit. Current municipal reporting says the structure is complete but the equipment needed to operate it was not yet secured through the expected route.
The municipality has proposed applying with ULS Algarve for community funding towards equipment estimated at approximately €308,000. An application is not the same as an award, purchase or opening date.
Keep using the current care route
Patients should not move records, miss appointments or attend the new building until ULS Algarve confirms that services have transferred. Registration and family-doctor arrangements remain governed by the health service.
When an opening date is published, check which teams, appointments and administrative services move and whether any action is required from patients.
What you can do now.
- 01
Continue using the current health unit and appointments.
- 02
Wait for an official ULS Algarve opening notice.
- 03
Confirm any transfer instructions before changing registration.
