- Warning periods differ by district and may be updated.
- Possible hazards include local heavy rain, hail and strong gusts.
- Yellow is the lowest IPMA warning level, but local conditions can still be hazardous.
The risk is broad but not uniform
IPMA's warning table, updated on Monday evening, places many northern and interior districts under yellow thunderstorm warnings during parts of today. The stated hazards include localised rainfall of 10 to 20 millimetres in an hour, hail smaller than two centimetres and gusts of 70 to 90 kilometres per hour.
The start and end times are district-specific, and a warning can be revised. Coastal, island and southern conditions may differ from the broad mainland pattern.
Make the decision from the live map
Check the district and municipality forecast close to departure, particularly for mountain roads, outdoor events and exposed work. Allow extra time where intense showers could reduce visibility or cause local surface flooding.
Do not cross floodwater, shelter away from isolated trees during lightning and follow Civil Protection or municipal restrictions. Call 112 only for an emergency.
