IN BRIEF

An application is not an award. Students should track their individual file and continue meeting deadlines for scholarships, accommodation and enrolment.

  • Displaced-student status requests rose to 8,953 from 942 in the previous academic year.
  • Social-action scholarship applications stood at 99,952, compared with 101,710 a year earlier.
  • Applications were still being assessed, and a complete count for the non-scholar accommodation supplement was not yet available.
01

Several support routes are moving at once

The new incentive, social-action scholarship and displaced-student mechanisms have different eligibility tests and decisions. The sharp rise in displaced-status requests does not mean every request will be approved or that accommodation is secured.

The figures are a progress snapshot while services continue processing files. A national total cannot establish the status of one student's application.

02

Protect the individual application

Students should check that the application is complete, respond to requests for evidence and keep copies of submissions. They should not assume that applying for one measure automatically creates an application for another.

Where housing is urgent, use official accommodation and social-action channels while also planning a realistic alternative. Do not send identity or banking documents through an unverified message.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

What you can do now.

  1. 01

Check the status and evidence requests in the official portal.

  2. 02

Track separate scholarship, displaced-status and housing processes.

  3. 03

Ask the institution's social-action service about a delayed or incomplete file.
