Diesel is expected to rise while petrol falls from 19 October
Retail-sector estimates point to a five-cent increase per litre for road diesel and a 1.5-cent fall for 95 petrol after the weekly ISP support adjustment.

Archived 1 November 2026The figures are estimates, not a regulated price at every pump. Drivers and small businesses should compare the actual price displayed before filling and update budgets using their own fuel volume.
- The sector estimate is a five-cent rise for diesel.
- The estimate for 95 petrol is a 1.5-cent fall.
- Government support changes from 19 October, but final pump prices vary by seller and location.
Tax support and the market move together
The weekly adjustment increases the temporary ISP discount on road diesel and reduces it on petrol. Industry estimates still point in opposite directions because wholesale prices and the exchange rate also affect the amount charged at the pump.
Published national reference figures cannot tell you the price at a particular service station. Loyalty discounts and motorway pricing can widen the difference between nearby sellers.
Convert cents per litre into the real trip cost
A five-cent movement adds €2.50 to a 50-litre fill. That is a useful budgeting example, not a prediction of the exact change on one receipt.
Check the displayed price and fuel grade before authorising payment. Businesses should keep the invoice and use the price actually paid rather than a media estimate for accounts or customer charges.
