IN BRIEF

These are forecasts, not regulated national prices. The price at one station can differ because of location, brand, discounts and the timing of its stock change.

  • Petrol 95 is forecast to rise by about 4.5–5 cents per litre.
  • Road diesel is forecast to fall by about 0.5–1 cent per litre.
  • DGEG publishes reported station prices and daily national averages after prices are communicated.
01

A direction, not a guaranteed pump price

Weekly estimates reflect expected changes in international products and market conditions. They cannot establish the price displayed by every filling station on Monday.

A five-cent change equals €2.50 on a 50-litre fill before any card or promotional discount. A long detour to save less than the travel cost is not a saving.

02

Compare the price you can actually buy

Use the DGEG fuel-price portal to compare nearby stations and check the fuel grade and update time. Compare like with like: simple petrol with simple petrol, and advertised discounts only when you qualify.

Businesses should keep the supplier invoice and use the applicable accounting and tax rules rather than a media forecast for records.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

What you can do now.

  1. 01

Check local DGEG prices after Monday's update.

  2. 02

Compare the same fuel grade and usable discounts.

  3. 03

Avoid travelling farther than the saving justifies.
