Archived 12 September 2026Families and curious adults can meet working researchers, but need to choose a city and session rather than relying on one national timetable.
- The main public evening is Friday 25 September.
- Lisbon's programme runs into the evening at the science museum and Pavilhão do Conhecimento.
- Braga's programme brings together universities, municipalities and research centres.
- Most public activity is free, but venue capacity and registration can differ.
What visitors can expect
The programme turns current research into short demonstrations, conversations, games and hands-on activities. Lisbon highlights climate, sustainability and inclusion, while Braga lists a broad regional partnership and more than 200 activities.
It is not one touring show. Each organiser controls its own venue, hours, age guidance and reservations, and other Portuguese cities have related events.
Choose before travelling
Start with the official programme for the city you can reach, then pick activities suitable for the group. Families should check age guidance, late finishing times and whether a workshop requires a booking.
Public transport and parking can be busier around major venues. An accessible entrance or quiet-space requirement should be confirmed with the host rather than assumed from the national event description.
What you can do now.
- 01
Open the programme for your chosen city and date.
- 02
Reserve any activity that lists limited places.
- 03
Confirm travel, finishing time and accessibility before leaving.
