Archived 12 September 2026Businesses and individuals with time-sensitive customs or vehicle-tax work should plan around a six-hour service-risk window.
- The maintenance window is 10:00 to 16:00 on Tuesday 29 September.
- It covers customs applications and systems linked to IEC and ISV.
- The notice warns of possible constraints rather than a guaranteed total outage.
- A saved draft or screenshot is not proof that a submission was accepted.
Which work may be affected
The Tax Authority has scheduled a technical update for its customs systems. Applications used for customs declarations, excise duties and vehicle tax may be slow, intermittent or unavailable during the published window.
The notice does not extend a legal deadline automatically. Anyone facing a same-day obligation should check the applicable procedure and avoid leaving submission until the maintenance period.
Keep evidence of the actual result
Submit earlier where possible and retain the official receipt, reference or acceptance message. A browser confirmation that does not include a submission record may not prove completion.
If the system fails, record the time and error without exposing personal data, then use the Tax Authority's official support channel. Do not email identity documents to an address found in an unofficial search result.
What you can do now.
- 01
Move time-sensitive work outside the 10:00–16:00 window.
- 02
Keep the official submission receipt.
- 03
Use the Tax Authority's own support route if a deadline is affected.
