Portuguese customs services are moving into the Tax Portal
The Tax Authority says links on the separate Customs Portal are being withdrawn gradually and applications should now be opened through the main Tax Portal.

Archived 12 September 2026Importers, vehicle users and customs representatives should update saved routes before an old link stops working.
- The Customs Portal is being unified with the Tax Portal.
- The AT has not published one blanket closure date on the current notice.
- Applications should be found through the Tax Portal search.
- A removed shortcut does not mean that the underlying legal obligation has disappeared.
What is changing
The current notice says Customs Portal links will be discontinued in stages until that portal closes. Users should sign in through the Tax Portal and search for the relevant customs, IEC or ISV application.
Because the transition is gradual, one saved link may still work while another has gone. Build the new route now and record the application name rather than depending on a deep bookmark.
Avoid a missed filing
A portal move does not extend a declaration, payment or response deadline. Allow time to confirm access and permissions before a time-critical customs or vehicle-tax task.
If an authorised representative acts for the business, check that their Tax Portal permissions cover the correct application. Use the AT's published support channel for a technical access problem and keep evidence of any failed attempt.
What you can do now.
- 01
Find the application through the Tax Portal search and replace old bookmarks.
- 02
Check user permissions before the next filing date.
- 03
Keep dated evidence and contact the AT if access fails.
