Archived 12 September 2026The notice can affect performances, venues and technical work, but it does not prove that a particular event is cancelled. Ticket holders need confirmation from the organiser.
- The union notice covers the full 24 hours of 17 October.
- It is described as open to workers regardless of union membership, role or contract type.
- Each venue or event will determine and communicate its own operational effect.
A sector-wide call
The union says the stoppage supports wage, pension, public-service and cost-of-living demands and enables participation in demonstrations in Lisbon, Porto and Coimbra. It also advances culture-sector claims.
A national strike call does not establish participation at every employer. The practical result depends on workers, venue operations and any applicable arrangements.
Do not assume a booking is cancelled
Keep the ticket and wait for the venue, promoter or box office to confirm the event's status. If it changes, use the seller's official process for the offered exchange, rescheduling or refund route.
Avoid buying replacement travel or lodging on the assumption of cancellation unless the booking terms make that risk acceptable.
What you can do now.
- 01
Check the organiser's official channel before travelling.
- 02
Keep tickets and booking terms until the event is resolved.
- 03
Use the original seller for any exchange or refund request.
