Government plans a €50 rise in the elderly solidarity supplement reference value

A reference value is not the same as a flat payment
The Government announced a planned €50 increase in the CSI reference value. That value is used in the means-tested calculation; it does not mean every current or future recipient receives exactly €50 more.
The Budget proposal still has to go through Parliament and the final legal text may set commencement and implementation details.
Check the case after the rule is final
Do not change a household budget on the strength of the announcement alone. Keep Social Security records and check the person's income, household situation and current award.
Once the Budget and implementing information are published, use Segurança Social Direta or the responsible service to confirm the actual amount and effective date.
