Porto's Family Film Project opens six days of archive cinema
The 15th festival runs from 12 to 17 October across Batalha Centro de Cinema and other Porto venues, with films, performances, installations, masterclasses and a children's workshop.
Archived after its publication day. Search retains this original briefing for background and accountability.
Archived 12 September 2026Events use several venues and different ticket rules. A cinema ticket, free masterclass or festival pass does not automatically cover every activity.
- The 2026 focus includes seven sessions devoted to filmmaker Alan Berliner.
- Cinema sessions at Batalha are listed at €4, with concessions and a €15 general pass subject to conditions.
- Masterclasses and the performance cycle are free but may require registration or have limited capacity.
Build a programme by venue and access rule
The festival uses Batalha, Casa Comum, Rampa, Instituto, Aro Estúdio and Passos Manuel. The organiser publishes transport information for each venue and a day-by-day schedule.
The children's workshop costs €12.50 and requires registration. Family cinema sessions have a separate €2.50 price, while students and pass holders remain subject to available seats.
English access is built into screenings
The organiser states that all film sessions are subtitled in English and lists the general classification as age 12 and over. Individual workshops and installations may have different practical conditions.
Check the final schedule because the organiser and Batalha list slightly different overall date ranges for their own hosted elements; the festival programme is the reference for all venues.
