Archived 12 September 2026Readers can join conversations, school events and book activities around the city rather than treating the festival as one venue or one evening.
- The programme runs from 22 to 27 September.
- The organiser lists free entry for the festival programme.
- Sessions take place in different city spaces, including schools and cultural venues.
- A literary dinner or a specific limited-capacity event may have its own arrangements.
A festival spread across the city
The third Utopia Açores chapter brings authors and readers together for conversations, presentations, live podcasts and activities for younger audiences. It is part of Ponta Delgada's 2026 cultural programme.
The schedule uses more than one venue, so there is no single address or start time for the whole six days. Choose a particular session before travelling, especially when attending with a child or making an inter-island trip.
Choose your session
General entry is described as free on the organiser's listing, but that should not be read as guaranteed seating at every event or a free meal at a literary dinner. Check the individual session for booking, capacity and accessibility.
If you are new to the city, use a daytime talk or book presentation as a low-pressure way into local cultural life; the programme includes established and newer writers from different backgrounds.
What you can do now.
- 01
Choose a dated session and confirm its venue.
- 02
Check booking, access and any separate dinner conditions.
- 03
Allow travel time between city venues.
