Three days of reduced service
Olhão's Balcão Único will operate with fewer staff from Wednesday 26 August through Friday 28 August. The team is completing mandatory training connected with the Citizen Shop due to open in the city.
On those three days the desk will close for lunch from 12:30 to 13:30. The municipality also warns that tickets will be issued only while the reduced team still has capacity, so arriving during published hours may not guarantee same-day service.
Protect a deadline before making the trip
If the task has a legal, payment or application deadline, first check whether it can be completed through the municipality's online services, email or another named channel. Keep proof of submission rather than relying on a plan to visit late in the day.
If an in-person visit is essential, arrive early with the complete document set. Telephone the municipality before a long journey if the matter needs a specialist member of staff rather than general reception.
Why the disruption is happening
The training is part of preparations for a new Citizen Shop planned for the first floor of Ria Shopping. The future centre is expected to bring together municipal services, Espaço Cidadão, the Tax Authority, Social Security and civil-registration services.
The September opening remains a planned date until the municipality confirms the operational day and service list. Do not postpone an urgent August matter on the assumption that every agency will be available there immediately.
