IN BRIEF

Residents can solve more administrative tasks in one visit if they first check the correct desk, appointment rule and documents.

  • The Citizen Shop is located in Ria Shopping and is open to the public.
  • It includes Tax Authority, Social Security and civil-registry services, plus a municipal Citizen Space and Single Desk.
  • EU-citizen registration services are among the municipal functions available there.
  • Planning, urbanism, public-space occupation and advertising matters remain at the council building.
01

What has moved into the new centre

The Olhão Citizen Shop brings several national and municipal services together at Ria Shopping. The published list includes the Tax Authority, Social Security, the Institute of Registries and Notaries, a Citizen Space and the council's Single Desk.

Municipal services include general requests and EU-citizen registration, but availability can depend on the specific procedure and whether an appointment is required. Check the service name rather than assuming every public function is handled at every counter.

02

Some council matters still use the municipal building

Planning, urbanism, occupation of public space and advertising remain at the Paços do Concelho. Going to the new Citizen Shop for one of those matters can add an unnecessary second journey.

Before travelling, confirm the opening hours, appointment requirement, fee and original documents. Take the process reference if the matter is already under way so staff can identify the correct record.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

What you can do now.

  1. 01

Identify the exact service and whether it is national or municipal.

  2. 02

Check whether the service requires an appointment.

  3. 03

Take identification, supporting documents and any existing process number.
