Heavy showers remain possible in northern and central Portugal this morning
IPMA yellow warnings cover several districts during Thursday morning after intense rain flooded roads and brought down trees in parts of the Minho region on Wednesday.

Where extra care is sensible
IPMA's current table places Aveiro, Braga, Coimbra, Leiria, Porto and Viana do Castelo under yellow rain warnings for part of Thursday morning. Braga and Viana do Castelo also have conditions favourable for thunderstorms, local downpours, hail and strong gusts into the afternoon.
The Minho region already saw local impacts on Wednesday. In Ponte de Lima, rain carried ash and debris from recently burned ground onto roads, a reminder that runoff can remain hazardous after the heaviest shower has moved on.

Check the district, hazard and end time immediately before travel. Slow down where visibility is poor, leave more stopping distance and do not enter flood water when the depth or road condition is uncertain.
