Navegante app adds a journey planner across Lisbon's transport network
The new Planeador Navegante combines route search and available real-time data from eight public-transport operators across the Lisbon metropolitan area.
Archived after its publication day. Search retains this original briefing for background and accountability.
Archived 12 September 2026A single search can simplify a multimodal journey, but it does not replace service alerts, validate a fare or guarantee a connection.
- The planner is available through the Navegante app.
- Its eight operators include Carris Metropolitana, Carris, MobiCascais, CP, Fertagus, Transtejo Soflusa, Metro and TCB.
- The tool can combine modes and use real-time information where the operator provides it.
One search can cross operator boundaries
A passenger can compare a journey involving buses, rail, ferry or Metro without opening every operator's planner first. The result depends on the timetable and live data supplied to the system.
A suggested itinerary is guidance, not a held connection. Disruption, crowding, accessibility or a missed transfer can still change the trip.
The correct ticket still matters
Planning a route does not load, validate or extend a Navegante product. Check that the card, pass or ticket covers every operator and zone used, and validate where the service requires it.
For a time-critical trip, open the affected operator's alert as a final check and keep an alternative. Accessibility information should also be confirmed with the operator when a lift, boarding arrangement or assistance is essential.
What you can do now.
- 01
Update or open the Navegante app and plan the full route.
- 02
Confirm that the fare product covers every leg.
- 03
Check live operator alerts before a time-critical journey.
