Archived 12 September 2026IHRU says it intends to use European Investment Bank finance, but there is no construction or application date. Prospective tenants should not pay or register through an unofficial waiting list.
- The municipality ceded land to IHRU for 204 controlled-cost homes intended entirely for affordable rent.
- IHRU says the project did not secure its expected PRR funding.
- An alternative EIB financing route has been promised, without a public delivery date.
A design plan is not yet a home
The project has a defined site and a design history, but construction has not started. Funding, procurement, contracting and works still need evidence before a completion timeline is reliable.
The delayed 204 homes are separate from other housing delivered recently in the municipality. One project's progress does not establish another's availability.
There is no application window to join
No official opening date or tenant application process has been announced for these homes. A social-media form, fee or promise of priority should be treated with caution.
Use IHRU and Matosinhos municipal channels for future eligibility and application rules. Keep household and housing records current, but do not send sensitive documents before an official process exists.
What you can do now.
- 01
Follow IHRU and Matosinhos for a funded contract and start date.
- 02
