- Thunderstorms are possible.
- Conditions can vary sharply between neighbouring places.
- IPMA warnings and local forecasts should be checked again before travel.
A changeable Monday
The national forecast describes periods of very cloudy sky and showers, particularly later in the day. Thunderstorms are possible, while a southerly wind may become moderate in some areas.
A countrywide forecast cannot tell you the exact conditions on one road, beach or walking route. Rainfall can be brief in one municipality and much heavier nearby.
Make the decision close to departure
Use the municipal or hourly IPMA forecast and check any active district warning. Allow more stopping distance on wet roads and avoid sheltering beneath isolated trees during a thunderstorm.
Outdoor events and transport operators may change arrangements locally. Follow the organiser or operator rather than assuming that a national forecast automatically cancels an activity.
What you can do now.
- 01
Check the hourly forecast for the exact destination.
- 02
Allow extra time for a wet journey.
- 03
Follow civil-protection advice if a warning is issued.
