IN BRIEF

Visitors to the square and nearby streets need to plan parking, deliveries and taxi pick-up from a different point.

  • The restriction and parking ban apply from 09:00 to 19:30.
  • Praça Dr. José Vieira de Carvalho and parts of three connecting streets are listed.
  • The Avenida D. Manuel II taxi rank moves to Rua Simão Bolivar near Parque Central for the day.
  • The listed sections, not the entire municipality, are affected.
01

The affected streets

The municipal notice names the square; part of Rua Eng. Duarte Pacheco; a section of Avenida D. Manuel II; and Rua Augusto Simões between Rua Dr. Augusto Martins and the square. It also says the Duarte Pacheco section has a longer-running interruption, so do not assume its usual loading arrangement resumes when today's event ends.

Parking is prohibited in the listed areas during the stated period. The taxi rank normally on Avenida D. Manuel II moves temporarily to Rua Simão Bolivar, beside Parque Central.

02

Make a realistic arrival plan

Use the exact destination address to check whether it lies within the restricted section. If you need a taxi, use the announced temporary rank or confirm pick-up elsewhere with the driver.

The restriction is tied to Car-Free Day. Temporary signs and municipal traffic staff govern the road on the day, so a route-planner may lag behind the actual arrangement.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

What you can do now.

  1. 01

Check the municipality's street list against your destination.

  2. 02

Do not park inside the announced restricted section.

  3. 03

Use the temporary taxi rank or confirm an alternative pick-up.
