Archived 12 September 2026These are public discussion and training events, not a crisis or casework service. A person needing urgent mental-health or social support should use the appropriate professional or emergency channel.
- The open class runs from 15:00 to 17:00 on 14 October at the Regional Archive and Library of Madeira.
- The webinar on measuring child poverty runs from 15:00 to 16:30 on 16 October.
- The regional anti-poverty forum runs from 10:00 to 17:30 on 20 October at the same Funchal venue.
The programme links evidence and community practice
The sessions address child poverty, mental health, exclusion, gender, longevity and collective intervention. EAPN Portugal's Madeira branch is using the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty as the programme's focus.
Free participation still requires the relevant registration. A place should not be assumed until the organiser's process is complete, particularly for the in-person sessions.
Know what the events cannot provide
An open class, webinar or forum can improve understanding and professional connections, but it does not assess an individual's health, benefits, housing or safeguarding case.
For immediate danger call 112. For a health concern use SNS 24 or the appropriate local health service; for social support contact the responsible public or accredited local service.
What you can do now.
- 01
Register through the organiser's current form.
- 02
Confirm whether the selected session is online or at the Funchal venue.
- 03
Use an appropriate health, emergency or social-service channel for an individual case.
