IN BRIEF

The programme can help residents find local awareness, community and patient-support activities, but it does not replace screening or individual medical advice.

  • The programme presentation is scheduled for 15:00 on Monday 28 September.
  • It will take place at the League's regional headquarters in Funchal.
  • October activities are expected to cover awareness, health, culture and patient support.
  • An awareness campaign is not a diagnosis or a personal screening schedule.
01

What is being announced

The regional branch says it will set out the 2026 October Pink programme at its Funchal headquarters. The campaign traditionally uses community activity and public information to focus attention on breast-cancer awareness and support.

The detailed Madeira calendar was not yet public when this briefing was prepared. Specific event dates, registrations and venues should be taken from the programme after Monday's presentation.

02

Keep awareness and healthcare separate

A walk, talk or campaign can make reliable information easier to find, but it cannot decide whether a symptom needs assessment or when one person should be screened. Follow the health service or clinician responsible for your circumstances.

If you notice a change that concerns you, do not wait for a campaign event. Use SNS 24 or your healthcare provider for non-emergency guidance and 112 for an emergency.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

What you can do now.

  1. 01

Check the Madeira programme after Monday's presentation.

  2. 02

Register directly with the organiser where an activity requires booking.

  3. 03

Use a healthcare professional for symptoms or personal screening advice.
