What is being proposed
The 16E is planned as a surface tram in a dedicated corridor linking the city centre with the eastern riverfront. The project extends the tram connection from Santa Apolónia through areas including Beato, Marvila and Parque das Nações, with the wider route tied to the future Sacavém interchange.
The environmental study compares a reference alignment with four alternatives. Differences include how the line passes through the Matinha area and whether part of the route uses Avenida Dom João II rather than Alameda dos Oceanos.
How to make a useful submission
The consultation is about the project before approval, not a finished timetable or construction notice. Read the non-technical summary and identify the precise section that affects your home, journey, business, street access, trees or public space.
A useful comment explains the location, the likely effect and the change or mitigation being requested. General support or opposition can be recorded, but a specific, evidence-based submission is easier for the assessment team to consider.
