IN BRIEF

The products could simplify travel across several operators, but they are not on sale yet and the launch date has not been announced.

  • The approved products cover one, three or five consecutive days.
  • Proposed prices are €15, €27 and €37.50 respectively.
  • A separate event ticket will vary with the number of days.
  • The sales start date and final purchase details are still pending.
01

What the metropolitan council approved

The new products are called Navegante 1 day, 3 days, 5 days and events. The standard visitor tickets are intended to provide access across the metropolitan public-transport system for consecutive days rather than requiring a resident monthly pass.

The event version will be configured for the duration of a particular event. The unanimous municipal decision authorises Transportes Metropolitanos de Lisboa to create and operate the products; it does not make them immediately available.

02

Wait for the operating details

Before choosing one, compare the final validity rules with the journeys you will actually make. A headline price does not yet confirm the sales channels, activation moment, included services or treatment of children and concessions.

Until TML publishes a start date, use the tickets and fares currently shown by the relevant operator. Do not build an imminent airport or event journey around a product that cannot yet be purchased.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

What you can do now.

  1. 01

Use current fares for travel before the launch is confirmed.

  2. 02

Check TML for the sales date and final validity rules.

  3. 03

Compare the pass price with the complete itinerary, not one journey.
