IN BRIEF

The reopening restores access to a major national collection, but visitors should confirm hours, galleries and ticketing before travelling.

  • The museum has been closed since 29 September 2025.
  • The announced reopening date is 21 November 2026.
  • Its collection contains about 40,000 objects, although not every object can be on display.
01

A planned return after major works

The project addresses the building and the way visitors move through and understand the collection. The announced date marks the intended public reopening after the long closure.

A collection total is not an exhibition count. Gallery access, loans, conservation requirements and phased installation determine what can be seen on a given day.

02

Check the visit close to the date

Opening hours, prices, accessible routes and any timed-entry arrangements should be confirmed on the museum's official channel. A reopening date can also be affected by final operational checks.

Visitors with a particular work or gallery in mind should verify that it is on display before making a dedicated journey.
