Lisbon Metro faces two partial strike mornings on 28 and 30 October
Unions have submitted notices for partial strikes from 05:00 to 10:00 on Wednesday 28 October and Friday 30 October.
Archived after its publication day. Search retains this original briefing for background and accountability.
Archived 12 September 2026The notices can lead to a late opening or major service disruption, but the exact operation is not yet final. Passengers should check Metro information again close to each date.
- The announced strike windows are 05:00-10:00 on 28 and 30 October.
- The Metro has requested minimum-service arrangements, which have not yet fixed the passenger timetable.
- A pre-notice can change through negotiation or later operational decisions.
Plan for disruption, not a specific closure
The company says the new notices arise from the same dispute as the 14 October stoppage. Until the final operating notice is issued, it is not possible to promise which stations or first trains will run.
An early airport, work or medical journey should have an alternative that does not depend on the network reopening at a guessed time.
Check the final notice on the day
Use the Metro website, app or station information before leaving. Other transport can also become crowded, and a normal surface timetable does not guarantee spare capacity during a Metro disruption.
If a ticket or connection is affected, keep the relevant proof and use the operator's current customer-service route. Do not rely on an old strike-day screenshot.
What you can do now.
- 01
Mark both mornings and identify an alternative route.
- 02
Recheck the official operating notice shortly before travel.
- 03
