- The 55E route page also flags the service alteration.
- Check an accessible alternative if the hillside walk is unsuitable.
What the operator says
The current Carris notice says that the funicular is temporarily out of service for preventive maintenance. It does not give a fixed date or hour for its return, so a saved timetable does not establish that a particular departure will run.
This notice is about the Funicular da Graça. Other lifts, trams and buses have their own service alerts and should not be assumed to share its status.
Choose a route you can actually use
The alternative on foot involves a steep part of Lisbon. Check a current public-transport itinerary or arrange another suitable route if steps, gradient, luggage or mobility needs make walking impractical.
Recheck the 55E alteration page immediately before leaving; temporary maintenance notices can be lifted or extended without a new printed timetable.
What you can do now.
- 01
Check Carris's 55E service alert before travel.
- 02
Plan a suitable alternative for the hillside.
- 03
Allow more time if changing to another route.
