IN BRIEF

These are planning discussions, not a confirmed construction programme for every station. Current timetables and access remain the practical source for today's journey.

  • The municipalities are coordinating ideas for 18 station areas.
  • Infraestruturas de Portugal remains responsible for the railway infrastructure work.
  • Proposed interchanges and public-space changes still require technical decisions and formal approval.
01

Planning the station and the neighbourhood together

Lisbon, Oeiras and Cascais are discussing improvements to station buildings, access and surrounding public space while the railway's technical renewal proceeds through Infraestruturas de Portugal. Oeiras has highlighted possible future links involving SATUO and Carris route 15E at a new Cruz Quebrada station.

Those ideas show the intended direction, but they do not establish a final design, budget, works date or service change for each of the 18 locations.

02

Separate today's trip from the future project

Passengers should continue to use the operator's current timetable and disruption notices. A consultation or municipal concept should not be treated as notice that a station entrance, platform or interchange has already moved.

Residents and businesses can follow the municipal and Infraestruturas de Portugal channels for consultations, construction notices and traffic changes as individual projects become formal.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

What you can do now.

  1. 01

Check the current railway notice before travelling.

  2. 02

Follow the relevant municipality and Infraestruturas de Portugal for formal plans.

  3. 03

Do not change a regular route until an operational notice confirms the change.
