IN BRIEF

Residents and visitors can attend a central Coimbra event without a festival ticket, while planning separately for transport, weather and the paid after-party.

  • Les Siestes takes place in Jardim da Sereia on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 August.
  • The main outdoor programme begins at 18:00 on both days and has free entry.
  • Friday runs until 01:00 and Saturday until midnight; the later after-party is a separate ticketed event.

A free festival in the city centre

The Coimbra edition returns to Jardim da Sereia with electronic, ambient, experimental pop, jazz and club-oriented performances. Friday’s programme includes Alana Vegana, feeo, Daisy Ray, Gil.Barte and DJ CVLT with Lizatron.

Saturday brings Just Fish, Megabasse, the Ottomani Parker Quartet, Malesa and DJ Narciso. The outdoor programme is free and is designed as an open city-garden event rather than a conventional enclosed festival.

Plan the evening before arriving

Parking around Jardim da Sereia is limited. The organiser recommends public transport, and the park is close to Praça da República. Check the weather because the event is outdoors and conditions may affect the practical plan.

The after-party runs separately at Oficina Municipal do Teatro from 01:00 to 06:00 after Saturday’s programme and requires a ticket. Do not assume free entry to the garden also covers the late-night venue.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

What you can do now.

  1. 01

Choose the performances you want to see and note their start times.

  2. 02

  3. 03

Check the forecast and remember that the after-party needs a separate ticket.
