Leiria tenders upgrades for six children's playgrounds
The municipality plans work at Parque do Avião, Parque da Ponte, Monte Real, Santa Clara, Serrada do Pinhal and Ser Solidário through tenders worth about half a million euros.

Archived 12 September 2026A tender is not an opening timetable. Families should continue to follow barriers and local notices because individual playground closures and completion dates can differ.
- Six playgrounds are included in the announced procurement package.
- The most substantial intervention is planned for Parque do Avião and includes design work.
- Parque da Ponte is among the spaces awaiting work before reopening.
Each site can move on a different timetable
Procurement must still produce awards, contracts and site programmes. A total package value does not show what will be spent at each playground or guarantee that every site starts together.
Keep children outside fenced or signed work areas even when equipment appears accessible. A visual absence of workers is not confirmation that a closed playground is safe to enter.
Look for the site notice
The municipality or contractor should publish or display the start, expected duration and access arrangements once work is scheduled. That evidence is more useful to a family than the tender headline.
Nearby alternatives, accessible equipment and reopening dates should be checked through municipal channels as each contract progresses.
What you can do now.
- 01
Use only playgrounds officially shown as open.
- 02
Check municipal notices for the site-specific works period.
- 03
Follow the procurement record for award and contract evidence.
