The Green Rail Pass now covers CP urban trains in Lisbon and Porto
From today, the €20 monthly pass can be used on CP's urban services in the Lisbon and Porto areas as well as the rail services it already covered.

What changed today
The Green Rail Pass can now be used on CP urban trains in the Lisbon and Porto areas. The pass already covered regional and InterRegional services, Coimbra urban trains and second class on Intercidades, where a free advance seat reservation is required.
The Government's start notice refers specifically to CP urban services. Travellers who also use Metro, Carris, Fertagus, Transtejo, STCP or another operator should check that separate leg rather than treating the pass as a universal metropolitan ticket.
Compare the whole commute
A €20 rail pass may reduce the cost of a journey made mainly by CP, but the best option depends on every transfer. Compare it with Navegante or Andante when the route includes several local operators.
The pass is loaded onto a CP card and runs for consecutive days rather than a calendar month. Confirm purchase, reservation and validation rules before the first trip, especially when combining an urban train with Intercidades.
