A long programme in one park
Funchal Summer Fest returns to Parque de Santa Catarina on Saturday 29 August for 11 hours of music and activities. Portuguese rapper Valas headlines a programme that also includes DJ sets from Oxy and Zinko.
The wider site includes gaming, outdoor activities, a calmer rest area and stands from health and youth organisations. The mix means the event can work as more than an evening concert.
Know the entry conditions
Admission is free and the park has a stated maximum capacity of 7,000 people. The event is open from age six, and organisers say minors will be identified at entry.
Shots and buckets of alcoholic drinks will not be sold. Anyone attending with children or teenagers should agree on a meeting point and make sure the responsible adult and return plan are clear.
Plan the journey home
An event ending at 01:00 needs a transport decision before arrival. Check the last public service, taxi availability or designated driver, and allow for crowds leaving at the same time.
Bring only what the venue allows, check the weather and arrive earlier for activities or a less crowded entry. If capacity is reached, free admission does not guarantee immediate access.
