IN BRIEF

It is a free way for families, older residents and people with disabilities to explore active and public-transport options in central Funchal.

  • The event is free and is scheduled for Sunday, 20 September, from 10:00 to 13:00.
  • Activities are spread across Avenida do Mar e das Comunidades Madeirenses and Praça do Povo.
  • The programme includes electric vehicles, public transport, sport, health, road safety and an orientation activity.
01

What visitors can expect

Mobi Open Day forms part of Funchal's European Mobility Week programme. The city describes it as an inclusive morning for children, adults, older people and people with disabilities, with active-mobility and family activities rather than a trade-only conference.

Visitors can expect an electric-vehicle display, a public-transport area and Mobi orienta!, an orientation activity through Funchal. Individual activities may have capacity or participation rules on the day.

02

Plan for a busy waterfront morning

The event uses prominent central waterfront spaces, so allow time for altered pedestrian flows and possible traffic controls. Public transport or a walk from the centre may be simpler than relying on nearby parking.

The wider Mobility Week closes on 22 September with a conference about Funchal's future urban mobility. The Sunday event, however, is the public activity intended for practical participation and family visits.
