IN BRIEF

Travellers gain another Lisbon terminal option, but not every FlixBus route or departure is moving from Oriente.

  • The new Sete Rios operation is due to begin on 29 September.
  • FlixBus says 23 daily services will use the terminal.
  • Lisbon Oriente remains in use, so the ticket's departure terminal must be checked.
  • Promotional fares advertised from €2.99 are limited and should not be treated as the normal price for every journey.
01

What is changing

Selected services from northern Portugal will arrive at and depart from Sete Rios, adding to FlixBus's existing Lisbon operation. The announced links include Porto Campanhã, Porto Airport, Braga, Guimarães, Viana do Castelo and Ponte de Lima.

Some time slots and connections vary by day. The number of daily services describes the scheduled operation overall; it does not mean that each named city has 23 departures or that every departure runs seven days a week.

02

Check the terminal before leaving

Lisbon has more than one long-distance bus terminal. Read the final ticket and live journey information for the exact terminal, platform and time, especially if connecting to a flight or another operator.

Sete Rios has metro, rail and urban-bus connections, but transfer time should include walking, finding the platform and ordinary service disruption. A cheap promotional fare may also have different change or refund conditions from a flexible ticket.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

What you can do now.

  1. 01

Check whether the ticket says Sete Rios or Oriente.

  2. 02

Allow realistic transfer time between operators or terminals.

  3. 03

Read baggage, change and refund conditions before paying.
