IN BRIEF

Buying the credential is not the same as receiving the certificate. Walkers need at least 13 kilometres of coherent evidence and should pre-register before requesting certification.

  • The credential records identity, departure, dates and stamps and includes a QR code for registration and criteria.
  • A qualifying walk must cover at least 13 kilometres and be supported by coherent evidence.
  • €1.50 from each €2 credential is assigned to a social cause; Acreditar is the first-year beneficiary.
01

The credential begins before the certificate

The credential is available from 13 October for pilgrims to carry and stamp along the route. It creates a record of the journey but does not by itself prove that all certificate conditions were met.

Pilgrims should complete the online pre-registration and keep the code received by email. Route, identity and stamp evidence should be legible and consistent.

02

Certificate issuance starts later

The Sanctuary says Via Pacis certificates will begin to be issued on 29 November 2026. A person arriving before that date should not assume that a certificate can be collected immediately.

Walking routes carry ordinary road, weather and health risks. Plan safe stages, carry water and visibility equipment, and check current local conditions rather than treating the credential as route supervision.
