Archived 12 September 2026Passengers travelling on the affected dates should monitor the booking directly and keep evidence of additional reasonable costs if their flight is disrupted.
- The announced strike periods are 2–6 October and 19–23 December 2026.
- The union estimates that about 500 flights are scheduled at Lisbon, Porto and Faro during the October period.
- Minimum services and the final operational effect have not yet been established.
- A strike notice does not mean every flight will be cancelled; check the individual booking before travelling.
What is known and what is not
The National Union of Civil Aviation Flight Staff has called two strike periods covering easyJet cabin crew based in Portugal. The October action runs for five days and the December action covers the busy pre-Christmas period.
The published notice does not establish which individual flights will operate, be delayed or be cancelled. Minimum services may still be set, and the airline's live schedule is the useful source for a particular booking.
Prepare without cancelling your own ticket too early
Keep contact details in the booking up to date and check the airline's app or website before leaving for the airport. If easyJet cancels a flight, follow the offered rerouting or refund process and keep receipts for necessary, reasonable expenses.
Passenger rights depend on the actual disruption and circumstances. Do not buy an expensive replacement on the assumption that it will automatically be reimbursed, and do not cancel a confirmed flight voluntarily without first checking the fare conditions.
What you can do now.
- 01
Open the booking and confirm the airline has your current phone number and email.
- 02
Check the flight status again before travelling to the airport.
- 03
Keep receipts and written disruption notices if the flight is affected.
