IN BRIEF

Published totals describe the wider operation, not an individual booking. Only the airline's current flight and reservation status can confirm what you should do.

  • DGERT lists 2 to 6 October as the first strike period.
  • The airline and union use different baselines when describing operated and cancelled flights.
  • Knock-on disruption may continue after the formal strike period ends.
01

The final strike day is not the end of every change

DGERT's minimum-services record confirms the 2–6 October strike period. The airline said it expected 428 of 442 flights in its adjusted schedule to operate, while the union reported almost 370 cancellations across the broader programme and warned of continuing effects.

Those figures are not directly interchangeable: one measures operation against an adjusted schedule and the other counts cancellations from a broader baseline. Neither confirms the status of one passenger's flight.

02

Use the reservation, not the headline

Open the live flight tracker and the contact details attached to the booking before leaving. If a flight is cancelled, read the re-routing, refund and care options before accepting a change.

Keep boarding documents, airline messages and receipts for reasonable expenses. A later flight can still be affected by aircraft or crew positioning even after the strike period has ended.
