- The festival runs from Tuesday 15 September to Sunday 20 September.
- Sixteen performers from Portugal and 10 other countries are included in the announced programme.
- Street performances extend beyond central Coimbra to Taveiro, Ameal, Arzila, Antuzede, Vil de Matos, Souselas and Botão.
- The programme includes an experience created for blind audiences and two international gala shows at Convento São Francisco.
A festival spread across the city and its parishes
Encontros Mágicos is not confined to one stage. The programme combines street performances in Coimbra with visits to several parishes and two closing gala evenings at Convento São Francisco. The announced line-up brings together artists from Europe, Latin America, Asia and Portugal.
This year's additions include a performance by Juan Esteban Varela designed so that blind audience members can experience the illusion through senses other than sight. A photography exhibition by Italian magician Mattia Bidolí is also planned at Convento São Francisco.
Choose the part that suits your day
Street performances are the simplest way to sample the festival while exploring Coimbra. The international galas are a more formal evening and may require advance booking. Families should check the duration, age guidance and venue before choosing a session.
Use the final organiser programme for exact times and any booking or accessibility details. Allow extra time around central venues because a popular public event can change parking and walking conditions.
