What is ready
Cascais municipality opened the new school building to its community before pupils begin using it in the 2026–2027 year. The first phase provides 44 classrooms, laboratories, a library, auditorium, dining hall and other teaching and support spaces.
The project is designed for 1,320 pupils and replaces facilities that had operated on a provisional basis since 1975. The municipality lists €25.85 million as the eligible project cost.
What is still to come
The wider project was divided into phases so teaching could continue during construction. The sports pavilion, remaining outdoor areas and landscaping are not the same as the teaching building now entering use.
Families should use the school or grouping's direct communication for timetables, access and practical first-day arrangements. A public open day does not replace an individual enrolment or placement decision.
What you can do now.
- 01
Check start-of-term instructions from the school grouping.
- 02
Confirm the entrance and transport plan for the pupil.
- 03
Treat later sports and landscaping work as a separate phase.
