Six families receive new public homes in Campanário
Ribeira Brava has handed over four one-bedroom and two two-bedroom public homes created from the former Porto da Ribeira school in Campanário.
Archived after its publication day. Search retains this original briefing for background and accountability.
Archived 12 September 2026The handover is a completed local housing result, but it does not open a general application or guarantee delivery of the remaining homes in the municipality's programme.
- Six homes were completed in the converted school: four T1 and two T2 units.
- The project cost about €960,000, including approximately €700,000 from the recovery plan.
- The local housing strategy covers 34 social homes; six are now complete.
The keys mark delivery, not a new application round
The six households received homes through the relevant local housing process. The handover does not mean that the building has unallocated units or that people can apply directly at the property.
Anyone needing housing support should use the municipality's official social-housing channel and provide current household, income and housing evidence.
The wider programme remains in progress
The municipal strategy refers to 34 social homes, so the completed six are only part of the intended response. A revision of the local housing strategy and the Municipal Housing Charter is due for consideration.
Programme totals do not establish construction or handover dates for the remaining 28 homes. Follow approved projects, contracts and notices rather than treating the headline target as available stock.
What you can do now.

Use Ribeira Brava's official housing-support channel if you need help.
