- Twenty-five positions are planned for Hospital do Divino Espírito Santo.
- Fifteen are planned for Hospital de Santo Espírito da Ilha Terceira.
- The regional health service reports that nursing numbers have grown since 2019.
Two planned hospital competitions
The regional health secretary announced that a competition for 25 nurses at Hospital do Divino Espírito Santo in Ponta Delgada and another for 15 at Hospital de Santo Espírito da Ilha Terceira should open by year-end.
The government says the regional health service has almost 2,000 nurses, around 17% more than in 2019. That contextual figure does not determine the contract terms of the new posts.
Wait for the official notice
The formal notice should define qualifications, professional registration, recognised foreign credentials, contract category, pay, documents and deadlines. None should be inferred from the headline total.
Applicants relocating between islands or from outside the region should also assess housing, transport and registration timing before accepting a role, but should not pay an intermediary for access to a public competition.
What you can do now.
- 01
Monitor the regional official channels for the competition notice.
- 02
Check nursing registration and foreign-qualification recognition early.
- 03
Compare contract, housing and island transport before committing.
