IN BRIEF

The new address brings several sexual-health, trafficking-support and harm-reduction projects into one base, but each service may use its own referral or appointment route.

  • The new office is in Faro at number 53-A, ground floor.
  • Services include sexual-health education and HIV and STI prevention.
  • The base also supports trafficking victims and vulnerable populations through dedicated projects.
  • Opening a new office does not mean every service is available without prior contact.
01

Which work is based there

APF Algarve says the office will host Aquém e Além Margens, focused on health education and HIV and STI prevention; EME Algarve, which assists and protects trafficking victims; and Projeto RIO, which works on risk reduction with socially and occupationally vulnerable populations.

These are distinct programmes with different safeguards. A person seeking help should describe the need only to the relevant service and ask how confidentiality, eligibility and appointments work.

02

Confirm before travelling

Check APF's current contact details and opening arrangements before going to the address, particularly for a confidential or urgent matter. An inauguration report is not a timetable.

For an immediate medical emergency call 112. For urgent but non-emergency health guidance, use SNS 24; specialist social support may use a separate national or regional channel.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

What you can do now.

  1. 01

Contact APF Algarve to confirm the appropriate programme.

  2. 02

Ask whether an appointment or referral is required.

  3. 03

Use emergency services when the situation cannot wait for an office response.
