IN BRIEF

The project is an operational investment in water services, not an immediate household solar offer or a promise of a lower next bill.

  • Installations are planned in seven Alto Minho municipalities.
  • The tender value is about €374,000 and the stated contract period is 270 days.
  • Bids are due by 23:59 on 6 October.
  • The electricity is intended for the utility's own consumption.
01

Where the investment is planned

The tender covers sites in Arcos de Valdevez, Caminha, Paredes de Coura, Ponte de Lima, Valença, Viana do Castelo and Vila Nova de Cerveira. The procurement includes electrical installation, solar generating equipment and preventive maintenance.

AdAM supplies water and wastewater services in those municipalities. The announcement does not include Ponte da Barca, Monção or Melgaço, which are outside the partnership.

02

What residents should and should not expect

Self-consumption can reduce the utility's purchased electricity and operational exposure, but the tender notice does not quantify a customer-tariff change. Procurement, construction and commissioning still have to occur.

Suppliers should use the formal public-procurement documents rather than a news summary when deciding whether to bid. Residents can follow contract award and delivery as evidence of whether the plan is completed.

WHAT TO DO NEXT

What you can do now.

  1. 01

Residents can track the award and installation rather than assuming an immediate bill effect.

  2. 02

Potential bidders should read the complete procurement file before 6 October.

  3. 03

Check AdAM notices for site-level work or service impacts.
