Archived 12 September 2026The programme offers free access to historic instruments and buildings across the region rather than concentrating the whole season in one city.
- The cycle opens on 25 September and ends on 22 November.
- Events span six municipalities in Alto Minho.
- Admission is free, subject to the capacity and rules of each venue.
- The programme includes both public concerts and educational activity.
A regional route through music and heritage
The cycle uses church organs and heritage venues as part of the experience, giving audiences a reason to visit several towns rather than one auditorium. Organist Nuno Gouveia is artistic director, and the programme brings together Portuguese and international performers.
Because each instrument and building is different, the venue is part of the performance. That also means access, temperature, seating and acoustic conditions may differ from a conventional concert hall.
How to plan a concert
Choose the municipality and date from the official programme, then confirm the exact church or venue and whether advance registration is required. Free admission does not guarantee a seat once capacity is reached.
Arrive early and respect worship spaces, local services and any restrictions on photography. Masterclasses may have different participation requirements from public concerts.
