Abrantes on-demand transport now plans trips around arrival time

Six Abrantes circuits have moved to a booking model in which the passenger gives the time they need to reach the destination and the service calculates collection.

IN BRIEF

The change can make appointments easier to plan, but the service still requires advance booking and confirmation. It is not an immediate taxi service or a guaranteed unbooked journey.

  • The revised model began on 1 October on six Abrantes circuits.
  • Bookings remain due by 15:00 on the preceding working day through the regional reservation service.
  • The passenger should use the confirmed pickup details rather than estimate departure time independently.
01

The destination time becomes the planning anchor

Previously published fixed schedules can be awkward for medical, public-service or rail appointments. Under the revised process, the passenger states the required arrival time and the reservation system groups demand and calculates the trip.

Shared routing means the collection time may differ by day and booking demand. The confirmation from the service is the operative information.

02

Book early and give a realistic deadline

Explain the destination and the time by which arrival is genuinely required, including a safe margin for check-in. Ask how and when the pickup time will be confirmed and what to do if confirmation does not arrive.

The regional freephone and online portal provide the official route and reservation information. Accessibility or companion needs should be raised during booking.
